Pets Enrich Our Lives
For as long as I can remember, I have loved animals. I currently have a Bernese Mountain Dog whom I love. I know many other people share my feelings about pets.
The American Veterinary Medical Association gives the following statistics about American households and pets:
- 36.5% of households have dogs
- 30.4% of households have cats
- 3.1% of households have birds
This translates into roughly:
- 70 million dogs
- 74 million cats
- 8 million birds
This does not include other pets such as snakes, iguanas, ferrets, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and others.
It’s obvious we Americans love pets.
Benefits Of Owning A Dog Or Cat
In addition to the love and affection they give us, pets also provide other benefits.
- Help reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve our mood
- Decrease the risk of heart disease
- Decrease the risk of stroke
- Help lower blood pressure
- Provide exercise opportunities
- Reduce feelings of loneliness
- Our pets provide us with companionship
It’s no wonder why we have so many dogs and cats as pets. The love we give them is returned unconditionally.
Our Pets Depend On Us
City living puts some restrictions on us with regards to our pets. We can’t let them roam around free because of the dangers to them from traffic and the many laws and ordinances prohibiting letting our pets run free. They depend on us for food, shelter, safety and providing exercise and play time.
We want our pets to be happy and healthy, so that means we have to take time out of our day to walk them for a bathroom break and for exercise. It also means we need to pick up after them because their waste is an environmental hazard that shouldn’t be left lying around, even in our own yard. It can spread disease to humans and other animals and contaminate the water supply.
Waste Wranglers Help You Provide Better Care For Your Pet
We know you love your pets as much as we love ours. But sometimes life demands time away for travel, or we simply get too busy to devote the time we should for our pets.
Whiskers the cat gets bored staying at home all day by herself and shreds the drapes because you haven’t had time to get out the string and mouse and play cat-fishing with her to burn off all that energy.
This is where Waste Wranglers can help. We love animals and want to help you provide the best care possible for your pet.
We can walk the dog and play with them and see that they have love and attention while you have to be away for work or other appointments.
We can see that the cat gets attention and plenty of play to burn off that excess energy they build up from all the cat-napping they do.
We also do pet waste cleanup to help you keep your yard clean and healthy for you and your pets.
